Custom-Designed Online Tutoring for AP History

Our most popular and successful program pairs students with a College Board–trained AP teacher who develops a personalized plan designed to strengthen areas of weakness and elevate overall performance.

Students receive targeted instruction, focused practice on the exam’s critical written components with detailed, actionable feedback, and clear strategies for approaching every section of the AP exam. Many students also gain access to carefully curated supplemental materials — including videos, podcasts, and analytical frameworks — designed to deepen understanding and reinforce key concepts.

This individualized program equips students with the structure, skills, and confidence necessary to excel both in their AP course and on the AP exam.

How the Program Works

Each customized program begins with a complimentary consultation and diagnostic assessment. During this process, the tutor evaluates the student’s strengths, identifies areas for growth, and develops a tailored Action Plan outlining specific recommendations.

Recognizing that each student’s goals and circumstances are unique, programs may be structured to adjust the amount of one-on-one instruction, full-length practice exams with detailed feedback, and comprehensive content review to align with individual academic needs and budget considerations.

Discounted rates are available for prepaid hour packages:

ONLINE One-to-One ala Carte Test Preparation Programs

AP History DBQ Writing- 12-20 hours based upon student skill/experience

The DBQ accounts for 25% of the AP exam score and, once students become comfortable with this style of writing, it often becomes one of the most manageable sections of the test. Because the majority of the essay is grounded in materials provided by the College Board, success depends on understanding how to analyze, contextualize, and effectively incorporate those documents. Through this option, students become thoroughly familiar with the DBQ rubric and complete targeted exercises focused on each evaluated component, including thesis development, document analysis, contextualization, and evidence integration. All work is evaluated promptly by an experienced AP Reader who provides detailed, actionable feedback, allowing students to clearly understand what earns points and where improvement is needed. After refining individual skills, students synthesize these elements into a complete DBQ essay, and once mastery is demonstrated, instruction shifts to timing strategy and structured practice to ensure confidence and efficiency under exam conditions.

AP History LEQ Writing- 10-15 hours based upon student skill/experience

Similar to the DBQ, students will thoroughly review each component evaluated by the AP Reader. The LEQ, which accounts for 15% of the exam score, differs in that no documents are provided; students must rely entirely on their own content knowledge to construct a well-supported argument. This distinction often creates uncertainty, particularly for those who lack confidence in their command of the material. For this reason, the Noah Nation approach introduces the LEQ after the DBQ has been mastered and typically toward the middle or latter part of the school year, once a substantial portion of the course content has been reviewed. Because many of the analytical and writing skills overlap between the two essays, sequencing instruction in this manner strengthens performance and consistently produces stronger results.

AP History SAQ Writing- 3-5 hours based upon student skill/experience

The SAQ accounts for 20% of the overall AP exam score and, at first glance, may appear straightforward — similar to questions students have encountered in social studies classes for years. However, the College Board applies precise scoring guidelines that must be followed carefully in order to earn credit, leaving little room for deviation. In this program, students are encouraged to set aside prior habits and adopt a clear, structured approach aligned specifically with AP expectations. Emphasis is placed on mastering a concise, repeatable format that maximizes point attainment. Students engage in targeted writing practice to ensure consistency and accuracy, while also reviewing the various types of SAQ prompts they may encounter, including those accompanied by visual stimuli and those requiring a response without any supporting material.

Content Based & Multiple Choice Review -

5-20 hours per exam based on student needs

Students review content covered in class in preparation for the AP exam, with the number of hours tailored to individual needs. After revisiting each unit, students complete stimulus-based multiple-choice questions modeled closely on those found on the exam. If specific areas of weakness are identified — such as difficulty interpreting map-based stimuli — instruction is adjusted to provide targeted practice in those areas until measurable improvement is achieved.

AP Skills Foundations Program (10 hours)

The AP Skills Foundations Program is designed for students preparing to begin the AP track who would benefit from focused training in the core skills required for success. While many AP courses concentrate heavily on content coverage, this program emphasizes the analytical, writing, and test-taking skills assessed on both the AP History writing rubrics and the multiple-choice section of the exam. Students develop the structured thinking, evidence integration, and exam strategies necessary to enter their AP course with confidence and a competitive advantage. Discounted rates are available for groups of 3 or more who register together.
