About Meredith

"The only way to do great work is to love what you do." ~ Steve Jobs

Becoming a teacher was a leap of faith for Noah Nation founder, Meredith. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, she decided against pursuing her initial goals of either going to law school or working for the government. Instead - inspired by her favorite college professor, the late Dr. Walter T. Brown, she decided that she wanted to work with young people in an effort to have them see that history was in fact a story - one with many exciting twists and turns. Without ever having set foot in front of a classroom, she went back to school to study education and get her teaching certification. One year later, Meredith entered a local High School as a Student Teacher, nervous that perhaps she made a mistake - as she witnessed several friends in her education classes who quit after a month, a week, and in a few cases - after a day. On the day of her first lesson (concerning the geography of Japan presented to high school sophomores), she began teaching but was soon interrupted by a question from a student about tsunamis. Without hesitation, she answered and then drew an illustration on the board to help clarify the phenomena. It was at that very moment that any misgivings were forgotten, and she realized she found her calling. A few months later - in September of 1998, Meredith was offered a full-time job at the same highly ranked public High School, where she remains employed to this day. Over the course of her tenure, she has taught numerous Social Studies courses including:  European History, United States History, World History, Comparative Civilizations (ancient history) and Geography. In 2019, Meredith began teaching AP European History with an accredited virtual Homeschoolers organization, and in 2026 - 2027, she plans to add a second course - AP Seminar, which she will be teaching for the first time.

In 2010, Meredith was selected by the College Board to be an AP Reader for European History essays. After that experience, Meredith created a series of podcasts concerning how to write for the AP exam. Two years later, a few students who viewed these podcasts on YouTube contacted her for online tutoring, thus beginning this new journey. Meredith's clients have seen tremendous success over the years with a 98% pass rate with over 90% earning a 4 or 5 on the national exam - more than 30% ABOVE the national average! Her own student scores yield similar results - in 2025, her combined (public school and homeschooled course) had a 98% pass rate that was 27% above the national average.

Meredith decided to start this website after several inquiries regarding homeschooling/online courses, help with Pre-AP Preparation as well as help with other AP and non-AP courses.

In addition to teaching and being an AP Reader, Meredith created and is the sole moderator of the largest secure, collaborative online community for AP European History teachers. Additionally, she facilitated several Professional Development Workshops to colleagues concerning historical writing, incorporating primary sources in history classes, and understanding AP Rubrics. In her regional High School District, Meredith has served as Professional Development Committee Chairperson, Academic Team Coach, New Teacher Mentor, National Honor Society Advisor, Class Advisor and Travel Club Advisor. She was also selected to participate in the Teaching American History Grant Program (TAH) from 2013 - 2015 and co-authored a TAH Lesson Plan that was published in George Washington University's Eleanor Roosevelt Papers Project

In addition to AP European History, Ms. Noah has taught World Civilizations and American History in the same brick & mortar public school district since the 1998-1999 school year.

Outside of work, Ms. Noah enjoys traveling {favorite international destinations include Florence, St. Malo (France), Innsbruck (Austria), Copenhagen and Paris}. Looking ahead, she is planning an upcoming school trip to Central Europe (Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria and the Czech Republic) in the summer of 2027. So far, she has been to the following European countries: Italy, France, the United Kingdom (including England, Wales, Scotland), Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Croatia and Slovenia. While Ms. Noah is a great lover of history and European studies, she also loves pop culture, reading, writing, swimming and knitting. Ms. Noah is also a very proud 'pawrent' to Emmy (5 years old) and Daisy (1 year old)

Meredith earned a Bachelor of Arts in History, as well as a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies with a concentration on European History. She has also taken 30 additional graduate credits on Educational Technology and Educational Techniques.
